Depending on when you’re getting around to reading this, Good Afternoon OR Good Evening! Today is Day Five of vacation for me, sadly, I only have a few days to go. As some of you may know, my family rents the same house in Lavallette, NJ, every summer, to spend time together. If you didn’t know that, now you do!
Sadly, we’re coming to a close, very soon.
It’s been a pretty great week so far, even with landing myself in the Emergency Room, in the middle of the night, on Tuesday into Wednesday. An allergic reaction to a bug bite swelled my right foot to almost double it’s size and left me laid up. What can I say? That bug knew it just had to selfishly experience me when it saw me.
A shot of Prednisone and four prescriptions later, I am here to tell the story. I like to stay consistent with my ER visits, once a quarter, and nothing less. Victory.
I hope that bug enjoyed itself. Meanwhile, I am just over here like…
So, onto why today I felt sexier than I have ever felt in a long time. It was all thanks to a one piece swim suit. Yes, a one piece swim suit. Earlier this summer I closed the deal on a one piece, after debating myself about it, trying on what seemed like hundreds and not feeling “just right”, and lastly, am I made for one? I ask “am I made for one?” because I feel that the general population has them reserved for women who are Mom’s, Mom’s who aren’t comfortable in two pieces, women who aren’t comfortable with their bodies, period, and the last factor, age. I was even told by someone, verbatim, “you have no right wearing a one piece” because of how dedicated I am to keeping my body healthy.
My feeling? Get that nonsense out of here.
My take on swimsuits is this: If you’re comfortable, wear it. Neither two pieces nor one pieces are reserved for any specific body type. If you’re happy, rock it. Rock it with pride. Rock it hard. Be so confident about it. If you’re confident, you’ll radiate, no matter what you have on your body. If someone doesn’t like what you are wearing they can look the other way. It’s that easy. As long as you’re comfortable, are respectful toward yourself via your clothing choice (this is huge), and are happy, wear it.
One day while in Old Navy, I picked up a swimsuit that I thought was just a cute one piece, despite having some pink it. (I am NOT a pink woman, I am barely a woman, period.) The moment I tried it on, I just felt sexy. Way sexier than wearing any two piece I own. Under the radar sexy. Classic and sophisticated yet sexy.
Extremely fun, yet leave a little something to the imagination sexy.
You can get this suit right now for less than half price, on OldNavy.com
My little babe of a niece and myself rocking our two pieces. This top is also, on sale, for $7.97 on OldNavy.com! The bottoms are my go to, the Itsy from Victoria’s Secret, which work best on my body.
I hope that I see more women out there venturing out of their comfort zones and start gravitating toward something that they may have not been so sure of in the past. You just might find what makes you feel best, in your own skin, makes you feel most beautiful, sexy, and most importantly, more confident than ever.
