Here we are, another Monday, and I am sure you’re all excited to see back to back (stop singing Drake in your head, hip-hop lovers) posts from me! I wasn’t going to log any thoughts until mid or later this week, especially because I had a wretched, stress filled day at work, but my good friend Kristy has wanted me to cover this post for awhile: Trader Joe’s. I know, I know what you’re thinking, “REALLY? Trader Joe’s?” Listen, I love food. You love food. TJs has great food and products to fuel our bodies. I am going to cover my Top Seven TJs Holy Grails, right here, right now (no, really, now stop singing, I hear you). Buckle up and get ready to make your list for your next TJ run.
Let’s face it, it’s 2016, coconut oil is a total life hack and most of us can’t live without it. Stressed out? Coconut oil. Sunburn? Coconut oil. Want to quit your job? Sign your resignation letter in coconut oil. Seriously, I found that TJsCO is the best tasting and I use it for a wide array of everyday uses. I eat a tablespoon straight up most days, I drop it in my coffee, I give it to my dog to keep her coat shiny, and I even use it on my face to prevent dryness and maintain a glow. It also takes me down a few notches, before bed, to provide a more balanced sleep. At a low $5.99 for 16oz, for the best quality, this is also the best price I’ve come across.
Trader Joe’s Meatless Meatballs
Alert the media: This one is a game changer! For all of my fellow vega, pesca, whatever-arian you call yourselves and vegans, this product is for you. These little baby balls are aren’t too high in calories for the serving size, are low in fat, and most importantly, packed with flavor. For $3.99 the possibilities are endless. You’re welcome.
Cowboy Quinoa Veggie Burgers
Staying in the frozen aisle, on the meatless options, and literally right next to the Meatless Meatballs you will find these little wonders. These all veggie patties are packed with quinoa, corn, and black beans which give it just enough of kick without completely firing up the mouths of most people. These are great on a bun or alone. Personally, I love them with with an egg, sunny side up, on top of half of an English muffin. Enjoy!
Sorry vegans, this one isn’t for you. Pescas, Vegas, and everyone else stay with me! You will not find cheaper or fresher eggs than at TJs. I will say it again, YOU WILL NOT FIND CHEAPER OR FRESHER EGGS THAN AT TJs. A carton of jumbo eggs will run you $2.29. That is almost unheard of. Go. Stock up. Eat eggs everyday. (I can. It’s bad.)
Trader Joe’s Cilantro Chive Yogurt
Now, if I am being honest, this should have been my number one. This is THE product that I can’t live without, from TJs. Since I don’t eat meat, sometimes my food will lack some flavor and this really packs it with just what I need. You can put a teaspoon of this on top of almost everything: Meatless meatballs, burgers, jasmine rice, quinoa, chicken, dip your veggies in it, a shoe, anything. Life changer.
Trader Joe’s Speculoo’s Cookie Butter!
Those who know: You know. Those who don’t know: You should want to know. I really don’t have much to say about this. It’s unhealthy, it’s delicious, it turns every frown upside down, it can be considered cra*k and the DEA should be targeting TJs for distribution. Basiclly, it’s what dreams are made of. One tablespoon a week and I am good; I have my fix.
and finally…. The Fresh Blooms!
If you know me, you know I always have a bouquet of fresh blooms that I bought for myself (know thyself, be thyself, love thyself, and buy flowers for thyself) in my kitchen. I buy myself a fresh bouquet each week. At a cool $3.99, $5.99, or $9.99 you can grace your home or treat someone you love to a beautiful arrangement of stunning flowers. They offer a huge variety, come with flower food, and literally never die. Literally. They are on display as soon as you walk into the store and, personally, they bring a huge smile to my face every time.
Don’t fret if your faves didn’t make the list! I have a few runners up that I am including! Be sure to also check out: TJs sunflower seed rolls, sourdough rolls, the bananas (at .19 each!), Veggie Chips, Mediterranean Feta (I sprinkle it everywhere!), Arugala Pizza, Jasmine Rice, Bagged Lettuce ($1.99 all the time!) Marinated Artichokes, and lastly ALL of the friendly TJ workers which make shopping there an absolute pleasure.
There you have it: My TJs Holy Grails. If you have any to add drop them in the comment box below and I will be sure to check them out. I am always looking for new products.
Have a great night and an easy week!
